1922

A meeting of the SPIA was held on July 7, 1922 at the Casino in evening. Gilbert D. Maxwell (73 Naushon) was elected president. The members authorized construction of a jetty at the end of the point to prevent sand from washing away. Estimated cost $200-300. They also authorized construction of a toilet in the casino (estimated cost $125). Plans were made to have cup races for one design and schooner sailboats. Membership was 49 with 7 associate members. Receipts for the year were $3,163 which matched expenses.
